Report: Jon Jones vs. Anthony Smith targeted for UFC 235

It looks like Jon Jones will be defending his light heavyweight title against Anthony Smith at UFC 235 in Las Vegas.

 

A trilogy bout between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier will have to wait.

TMZ Sports reported that Jones will defend his light heavyweight title against Anthony Smith at UFC 235 on March 2nd. The bout is expected to take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, but ‘Bones’ will have to apply for a license from the Nevada Athletic Commission (NAC) before being given clearance to fight.

Manny Pacquiao Wants To KO Adrien Broner

Manny Pacquiao and Adrien Broner are going to fight on January 19.

"I am not making a prediction, but my goal is to knock out Broner," said Pacquiao. "I am looking for a knockout against Broner. I have to maximize the opportunity. That's the kind of approach fans are looking to see." The 40-year-old Filipino legend and eight-division world champion will face the 29-year-old four-division titleholder at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It has the advantage of being boxing's first big event of 2019.

So often I hear people in Jiu Jitsu talk about THE triangle stranglehold and it is very clear they are talking about the FRONT triangle (the most common version of the triangle in BJJ).

Jon Jones tests positive for trace amount of Turinabol, UFC 232 moved to California one week out.

Jon Jones has tested positive for Turinabol again, but there are apparently extenuating circumstances. Jones was set to meet Alexander Gustafsson in the UFC 232 headliner in Las Vegas next Saturday. The event and fight will still happen, but they will take place in California instead.

After eleven hard-fought rounds, Dillian Whyte (25-1, 18 KOs) scored a huge knockout win over Derek Chisora (29-9, 21 KOs) in a rematch of their thrilling 2016 fight, which Whyte won by 12-round split decision.

Jon Jones declines CSAC proposal to enroll in VADA

Jon Jones shuts down possibility to enroll with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Agency (VADA).

At a California State Athletic Commission (CSAC) hearing last week, Jones was granted his license to fight back following a doping suspension. During the hearing, one of the commissioners, Martha Shen-Urquidez, proposed to Jones that if he wanted to completely clear his name, he could join the VADA program. Jones gets tested and adjudicated by USADA, the UFC’s anti-doping partner, as well as athletic commissions. VADA has no financial tie to the UFC.
